Kingrick Filter FBO Series
Long Life High Performance
Diesel Filter Elements
The Engine and Mobile Filtration Division has developed a new 3D coalescing filter media
Represents an advancement in diesel fuel Kingrek filtration and water separation. The new element enables operators to meet
The challenges of dealing with increasingly complex fuels and an increasingly demanding business environment. The new
FBO elements extend service life by 50% and significantly improve water separation in fuels containing biodiesel.

New degassing feature allows elements to work more effectively in suction applications

Using three different media stages. Stage 1 actively removes impurities, Stage 2 will coalesce or
Grow large droplets from emulsified water in the fuel before the final barrier stage prevents re-entrainment of the water.

The new coalescing media, designed as an upgrade, should be used in preference to existing FBO Series Kingrek coalescers. The new grade of media enables

Coalescer elements to be used on inferior fuels where previously only absorbents were used.
How does it work?
Stage 1: Fuel meets high capacity

Synthetic pleated particle Kingrek filter media. This unique pleat design maximizes surface area, ensures consistent flow, and provides superior particle retention efficiency. As the fuel passes through the pleat pack, larger unwanted particles are removed.

Stage 2: The fuel passes through multiple layers of treated packing and deep coalescing media. Here, the partially filtered fuel interacts with the multi-density coalescer, which effectively increases the water content of the emulsified droplets from <5 microns to >200 micron droplets.
These large droplets then fall into a collection bowl where the majority of the emulsified water is from the fuel.
Stage 3: Finally, before the fuel leaves the filter, a central hydrophobic woven mesh filter element prevents any large droplets from now leaving the filter and entering the fuel system.
The FBO-14, FBO60337 section is a Water Separator Fuel Filter. Water Separator Filters remove water and contaminants from hydrocarbon fuel streams and are the most popular filter. The FBO 60337 is rated for 5 micron filters. Learn more about the series of filter housings.

The FBO-14 filter assembly is designed to withstand the most severe conditions and provide easy filter changes. The FBO assembly can be used with flow rates from 10 GPM (38 LPM) to 75 GPM (284 LPM), depending on the model, filter and fuel type being filtered.

The assembly features a "locking collar" that attaches the Kingrick filter housing to the aluminum die-cast filter head with four bolts. The slotted "locking collar" allows maintenance personnel to manually loosen the four collar bolts, rotate and lower the bowl assembly to change filters.

After installing a new filter element, simply raise and rotate the bowl into position on the locking collar and tighten evenly by hand (it is recommended that the 4 closure bolts be tightened evenly to 100 lb-in).

The closure hardware consists of stainless steel nuts, bolts and washers with metal handles for easy maintenance. Filter elements can be easily changed by one person without the need for wrenches or other special tools (no V-band clamps).

Biodiesel Filtration
FBO filter assemblies are ideal for biofuel applications due to their ease of maintenance, rugged construction, and optional electric heaters.

Biodiesel is known to attack certain synthetic rubber compounds, so Viton O-rings are used to prevent O-ring expansion, softening, shrinking, or hardening.

Thermostatically controlled electric heaters are recommended in the head and/or Kingrick filter bowl to help avoid waxing and gelling of biofuels. Pour point depressants and biocides are required for reliable operation.

FBO Filter Assemblies FBO-10 and FBO-14 Kingrick filter assemblies are designed to meet severe hydrocarbon fueling conditions and provide easy filter changes. FBO assemblies can flow up to 25 gpm/95 lpm or up to 75 gpm/230 lpm, depending on the model, elements installed, and fuel filtered.

Powder coated assemblies are capable of withstanding 150 psi @ 240 deg. F maximum design pressure.

Steel filter bowl assembly, manual air vent, and manual drain valve help provide easy service - especially important given the wide range of FBO assembly installations, including fuel trucks, fuel tanks, diesel fuel dispensing systems, fuel docks, and fuel systems for diesel engines. 1 1/2" NPT inlet and outlet.
